Ecological pest control and decontamination of biocide-contaminated collections and art objects
In addition to its current locations in Brussels and London, ICM (https://www.icm.works/en/) will have a German subsidiary in Berlin from spring 2021. Affiliated are studios and storage areas and a humidity-controlled ICM warm air chamber for the treatment of insect-infested artworks and collections as well as for the decontamination of biocide-contaminated artworks and collections.
With Dipl.-Restaurator MA Jörg Breitenfeldt – Büro für Restaurierung – as managing director and founding partner, ICM has been able to recruit an extremely experienced coordinator for its future activities in the German market.
ICM Deutschland GmbH is part of the Brussels-based conservation company IPARC International Platform for Art Research and Conservation (https://www.iparc.eu/en/). IPARC currently employs 20 full-time conservators from various disciplines. All employees are certified masters in conservation.
ICM-IPARC operates a versatile, multidisciplinary platform and offers professional services from all areas of conservation and restoration, research and analysis, integrated pest management, and collection management. ICM has offices and treatment chambers in London and Brussels to date. The Berlin-based branch ICM Deutschland GmbH was founded in February 2021, with other major European cities to follow. A mobile treatment chamber is also available that can travel to museums and collections. In addition, museums, private collectors, art transporters or libraries can lease or rent their own customised treatment chamber. As part of an all-inclusive package, ICM staff can take over the operation of the facilities.
